Will it work on my Mac?
Notch targets Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Some features depend on your hardware, connected devices, permissions, or supported apps.
Do I need a MacBook with a notch?
No. Notch can use the camera cutout on supported MacBooks, or show a simulated island on other displays. The app’s Dashboard and tools remain available separately.
What stays on my Mac?
Core tools, clipboard history, settings, screen text recognition, and local file processing stay on your Mac. There is no Notch account or automatic telemetry. Visible optional features—including update checks, online lyric lookup, temporary sharing links, and feedback—can make network requests.
Which permissions does it need?
That depends on the tools you choose. Window controls may need Accessibility; screen capture and screen text recognition need screen access. Camera and microphone features have their own permissions. The app explains what each permission is for and which enabled tools use it.
Do I have to enable everything?
No. Start with the tools you need, then use All tools to add or remove others. Feature settings are kept when you remove a tool. Some already-loaded features finish unloading after an app restart.
Can I use it from the keyboard?
Yes. With the notch focused, Command–K opens Explore, Control–Tab moves between tools, and Escape steps back. Option–Command–F, M and R jump to Files, Music and Timer. Review your enabled tools’ shortcuts in the Dashboard.
How much can I customize?
Choose a compact, spacious or custom size; show, hide and reorder sections; arrange quick buttons; and choose click or hover behavior. You can also select the display and hide the island during fullscreen work.
Will this demo change my Mac?
No. These examples use sample content inside your browser. They do not read your clipboard, access your files, take screenshots or register system shortcuts. Sample notes and control choices reset when you reload.
Can I download this version?
This is a browser preview of Notch 4.0. A public Mac download will appear here after signing and release checks are complete.
